A Heartwarming Day of Giving at The Children’s Village with Mission Helping Hands and Helping Makes U Happy
Following the generous donations from our Dream Big Benefit in December, we had the privilege of collaborating with Mission Helping Hands LI and Helping Makes U Happy for a special visit to The Children’s Village in Dobbs Ferry.
Since its founding in 1851, The Children’s Village has been a beacon of hope, providing a loving and permanent home for children and teens. This remarkable community is dedicated to ensuring the safety of children and the unity of families. Over the years, The Children’s Village has become a sanctuary for foster children, runaways, homeless youth, and children from abusive households or those separated at the border.
We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity we had to meet and assist these children and teens. Our team donated hundreds of items, including clothing, shoes, hygiene products, toys, and much more. The Children’s Village operates a unique “Hawk Bucks” program, where children earn points through good deeds, academic achievements, and helping around the campus. They can then use these Hawk Bucks to ‘shop’ for items they need or want, choosing from the donations we brought.
Participating in this event was an extraordinary experience, and we are so thankful to have been a part of it. Meeting and getting to know these kids was an unforgettable experience, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts. Their resilience and spirit were truly inspiring, and we are confident that each of them has a bright and promising future ahead.
